New Town Kolkata is about 3000 hectare township in the vicinity of Kolkata and envisaged as a counter magnet in early late 90s. As the in-house Architect and Planner I was involved in detailed activities of all ranges of planning, design and executing monitoring activities as indicated below (2001-2004).

·         Physical/spatial Planning: Master Land Use planning for whole new town (initial structure plan was done earlier by IITKGP),

Plot layout planning of Action area I (650 ha) and Action area II (about 1100 ha)

Planning and Design of Rehabilitation & Resettlement areas in action area I & II.

·         Infrastructure: Physical and social Infrastructure networks and it’s planning,

Traffic & Transportation Planning and design including planning for mass rapid transport (East-West metro).
